Weigh and Play

We hold weigh and play sessions between 10:00am and 2:00pm on selected Tuesdays (sometimes Thursdays) between our Horsforth and Shipley branches. Please always check this page or our facebook page to make sure the session is going ahead. This is dependent on our Health Visitors availability. We charge standard admission plus a nominal £1.00 for this private service.

• Weigh and Play is a baby weighing and measuring service suitable for babies aged from approximately 6 weeks up to 2 years of age.
• We only use professional SECA scales and baby measuring mats for parents/carers to weigh and measure their baby.
• A registered Health Visitor is available to help with the process and to complete this record card (We advise you to also record this data in your baby’s “Red Book”).
• A clean and dry nappy must be worn during weighing and measuring.
• The scales and mat will be sanitised between each use.
• If your baby has any known allergies, please inform a member of staff before weighing takes place.

Our Health Visitor is a retired NMC registered nurse is qualified in adult and children’s nursing with over 34 years experience in the NHS. Her qualifications are RGN, RSCN, B.Sc Public Health Nursing. She is covered by Public Liability Insurance and is DBS enhanced checked.
